I’m an aspiring model, actor, dancer, choreographer… just kidding. I'm a Chef Called Joel, but you can just call me Joel.

I started cooking early on in my teens when I discovered that I could be like all the pretty people on the Food Network in my own kitchen (secretly, but not so secret), though I didn’t really begin to hone my skills until I was in my mid-20s, but I had been cooking (and eating) almost since I could walk. I took the leap of culinary faith by moving to New York to begin my scholastic adventure at The French Culinary Institute.

My adventures have taken me all around the world, from the Hamptons to Europe and back again, cooking, teaching and sharing my love of food with everyone who wants to know!

I have to say, cooking and food have become a hugely important part of my life. It has led me to experience some of the most unforgettable nights in places I could only have dreamed to see. It's taken me on the most unexpected journey around the world, and changed my life forever, resulting in the greatest family I could ever imagine right here in California.

I want to share with you my lifestyle of cooking; my comfort, my heart, and my absolute passion & love of sharing food and exploring cultures. Let me, A Chef Called Joel, take you on a food journey through my eyes. I’ll educate, inspire, and entertain you (hopefully); and if you really like me, then hire me, as I would love the chance to work with you and/or simply enjoy some amazing food together!
